- Double-click on the DXF file to open it. The file will be opened on the software you've just installed, letting you view or edit it. Once the DXF file has been opened, you can save it in a different format that can be used on other applications on your computer.
- Once you are in, you will want to import the PCB bank file. To do so, simply click on Upload/Validate Text File, browse the file downloaded from Talenox, and click on submit button to upload. Once you successfully upload the file, click on the file name to validate the result.

Highlight in Protel Design Explorer the file you wish to convert. In this example the file: 'Z80 Processor Board.pcb'.
In menu 'File' choose 'Export'..|| Canon lide 25 driver for mac.
In the following dialog choose 'File Type' (extension) 'Protel PCB 2.8 ASCII File (*.PCB)' and enter an appropriate name for the ASCII file, wich is now created. In our example we just added the letters TXT for the extension after conversion still is *.PCB.
After 'Save' is pressed please find the converted file in the defined directory.
Please open TARGET and select in menu 'File' 'Input-/Output Formats' and there 'ASCII - Interface'
This is the dialog of the ASCII interface. Open the 'Source', the ASCII-file we just generated. Click on button 'Open'.
In the opening dialog select it but choose 'File Type': 'ProtelPCBText *.PCB'.

Can't open a .pcb file?
When you double-click a file to open it, Windows examines the filename extension. If Windows recognizes the filename extension, it opens the file in the program that is associated with that filename extension. When Windows does not recognize a filename extension, you receive the following message:

To open this file, Windows needs to know what program you want to use to open it. Windows can go online to look it up automatically, or you can manually select one from a list of programs that are installed on your computer.
To avoid this error, you need to set the file association correctly.
- Open Control Panel > Control Panel Home > Default Programs > Set Associations.
- Select a file type in the list and click Change Program.
